News - Cytoreductive surgery and intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) show significant survival benefit.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of cytoreductive surgery with perioperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy for peritoneal carcinomatosis of colorectal origin was recently published in the Annals of Surgical Oncology. From the meta-analysis, it can be seen that a significant improvement in survival was associated with treatment by cytoreductive surgery and HIPEC/intraperitoneal chemotherapy.
